Ethical Guidelines

The LASU International Journal of Arts and Social Science Education (LIJASSED) is committed to upholding the highest standards of research and publication ethics. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to adhere strictly to these guidelines.

 

  1. Authorship and Contributorship
  • Only individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the work should be listed as authors.
  • All authors must agree to the final version of the manuscript and accept responsibility for its content.
  • Contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged in the manuscript.
  1. Originality and Plagiarism
  • Manuscripts must be entirely original and not published or under review elsewhere.
  • Proper citation of all sources is mandatory.
  • Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited. Manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software.
  1. Data Integrity and Reproducibility
  • Authors must ensure that data presented are accurate, verifiable, and reproducible.
  • Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data or results is strictly prohibited.
  • Authors should retain research data for potential verification by the journal or reviewers.
  1. Conflict of Interest
  • Authors must disclose any financial, personal, or professional relationships that could influence the research or its interpretation.
  • Reviewers and editors must also declare any conflicts of interest that could bias the evaluation process.
  1. Peer Review Process
  • LIJASSED employs a double-blind peer review process to ensure fairness and objectivity.
  • Reviewers are expected to maintain confidentiality and avoid any personal or professional bias.
  1. Ethical Approval and Consent
  • Research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data must have prior approval from a recognised ethics committee.
  • Authors must provide informed consent from participants and maintain confidentiality where applicable.
  1. Corrections and Retractions
  • Authors are responsible for promptly notifying the editor of any errors discovered after publication.
  • Corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern will be issued as necessary in accordance with COPE guidelines.
  1. Complaints and Appeals
  • Authors, reviewers, or readers who wish to raise concerns about editorial decisions, ethical misconduct, or publication integrity may submit complaints to the editorial office.
  • All complaints will be reviewed objectively, and appeal procedures will be communicated clearly to the concerned parties.
